Preparing Your Passport & Documents
Your Armenian Passport
Your passport should have at least six months' validity at the time you make your application for an Indian eVisa. When filling out your application, you'll need to enter several key details from your passport accurately:
- Full name: Must match your passport exactly, including middle names
- Passport number: Find this on the first page of your passport
- Date of birth: Enter in the format requested (typically DD/MM/YYYY)
- Passport expiry date: Double-check this carefully
- Date of issue: Located in your passport
Photograph
A recent color photograph is required. The photo should meet these practical guidelines:
- • Taken within the last 6 months
- • Color, not black and white
- • Face clearly visible, front-facing
- • Plain background (light colored, not white-on-white)
- • Neutral expression, eyes open
- • No sunglasses, hats, or head coverings (unless for religious reasons)
- • Digital copy uploaded as JPEG or PNG
Travel Details
Have your travel plans ready. You'll need:
- • Intended arrival date in India
- • Intended departure date from India
- • Purpose of visit (tourism, business, medical, etc.)
- • If applicable: details about business meetings, medical treatment, or other specific activities

Common Mistakes to Avoid
Small errors in your application can cause delays. Here are the most common mistakes we see:
Your full name must match your passport exactly. If your passport shows "Grigor Tamanian" but you enter "Grigor," this mismatch can cause problems.
Double-check your 9-digit passport number (found on the first page). A single digit error can delay approval.
Your passport should have at least six months' validity at the time of application. Verify the expiry date carefully. It's located near your photo in your passport.
Blurry, cropped, or incomplete passport scans can cause rejection. Ensure all text is clearly readable.
Make sure your departure date is after your arrival date, and both dates align with your visa type's allowed stay duration.
Double-check your email and phone number. You'll receive your eVisa and updates at this email address.

For applicants with immediate travel needs
Before You Travel to India
Once your eVisa is approved, make sure you're prepared for your trip:
Print your eVisa PDF in color. Keep copies with you on the flight. You'll need to show it at immigration when you arrive in India.
The eVisa is electronic but immigration officials still appreciate a printed copy alongside your passport.
Confirm your passport is valid for your entire trip. Immigration officers check this at entry and exit points.
While not required for the eVisa, travel insurance is recommended for medical coverage and trip protection during your stay in India.
Immigration decisions at Indian airports remain with Indian immigration authorities. Your eVisa is an authorization to apply for entry, not a guarantee of entry. Carry all requested documents.
Indian currency is the Indian Rupee (INR). ATMs are widely available in cities. Credit/debit cards are accepted in most establishments.
Save emergency contacts, hotel addresses, and your embassy contact information in case you need assistance during your stay.
Why Your Details Must Match Your Passport Exactly
This is one of the most important aspects of your India eVisa application. The information in your eVisa must match the details on your passport exactly—letter for letter, number for number. Immigration officials will compare them when you arrive in India.
What Happens if Information Doesn't Match
If there's a discrepancy between your eVisa and your passport, you may face delays or issues at immigration. To avoid this, double-check that all details match exactly before submitting your application.
Key Fields That Must Match Exactly
Full Name
Enter your name exactly as it appears on your passport. This includes middle names, suffixes, or special characters. If your passport shows "Maria-Anna Schmidt," do not enter "Maria Anna Schmidt" (without the hyphen).
Passport Number
Enter your passport number exactly as it appears on your passport. Copy it carefully to avoid transcription errors.
Date of Birth
Enter your date of birth in the format requested. For example: 15/03/1985 or 1985-03-15. Make sure the day, month, and year match your passport exactly.
Passport Expiry Date
This date must also match your passport. It shows when your passport will no longer be valid.
Nationality
Select Armenia as your nationality if you hold a Armenian passport.
Frequently Asked Questions
Armenian passport holders need either a traditional visa or an eVisa to enter India. The eVisa is an online authorization that allows you to travel without visiting an embassy.
The Tourist Visa is for sightseeing and leisure. The Business Visa is for business meetings, conferences, and trade. The Medical Visa is for medical treatment in Indian hospitals. Each has different validity periods and entry allowances.
The eVisa itself is valid for 1 year from the date of issue. However, the maximum duration of a single stay in India is typically 90 days.
If you need to stay longer than 90 days, you'll need to apply for a different type of visa or make arrangements with Indian immigration authorities while you're in the country. This is beyond the scope of the eVisa.
eVisa extensions are generally not available. If you need to stay beyond your approved duration, contact local Indian immigration authorities while in India.
If an application is not approved, we'll contact you with the reason. Most rejections are due to missing or unclear documents, incorrect information, or incomplete applications. You can reapply with corrections.
You'll receive a confirmation email immediately after submission. Updates will be sent to the email address you provided. Keep the confirmation email safe.
